Mid-market rates from the European Central Bank's daily reference rates, and what the rate means for a payment.
Rates are the ECB's daily reference rates via Frankfurter, published on working days. Rates inside your Helm account are live at the moment of conversion.
What the mid-market rate is
The mid-market rate is the midpoint between the price at which a currency is bought and sold on the wholesale market. It is the rate quoted on financial news and the one most providers add their fee to. Helm's conversion fee is agreed with your account manager and shown as one figure before you confirm.
When to convert
Holding USD, EUR and GBP balances in your Helm account means converting when the rate suits you rather than on the day the money lands. Businesses that both receive and pay in USD often never need to convert at all. See Global Accounts.
